Virtual Meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) and Dialogue Partner Engagement on COVID-19: Responses, Cooperation, and Partnerships

The outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) poses an unprecedented challenge to the health and welfare of our communities and the broader socio-economic development of the Indian Ocean region. The unfolding pandemic offers a stark reminder of the need for enhanced multilateral cooperation to address these challenges.

IORA as the regional apex Association in the Indian Ocean region, provides a crucial forum for Member States and Dialogue Partners to better respond in a decisive, innovative, and collective manner to the impacts of COVID-19.

The forthcoming IORA Virtual Meeting is a key initiative proposed by the IORA Chair, the United Arab Emirates, and the IORA Secretariat to promote regional cooperation among IORA Member States and Dialogue Partners in response to COVID-19.

IORA Senior Officials of Member States and Dialogue Partners will have the opportunity to share and discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to explore tangible responses to strengthen cooperation and assist Member States in need.
