H.E. Sanjay Panda - Courtesy Call to the IORA Secretariat

The IORA Secretariat had the honour to welcome H.E. Ambassador Sanjay Panda, Joint Secretary for the Indian Ocean Region Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India on 17 Aug 2018.

India has been one of the most active members of the Association since it's inception, and Ambassador Panda currently holds the position of Senior Official to IORA for India.


During his visit, Ambassdor Panda touched upon many topics including the strategic importance of the Association within the Indian Ocean region, and it's unique position as one of the most socioeconomically diverse groupings in the world. He welcomed initiatives that are currently being taken by the Association as it grows into a stronger an more visible presence in the region. Ambassador Panda also appreciated recent efforts towards strengthening of the IORA Secretariat and offered support in this endeavor.
