The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) www.iora.int is looking to recruit an intern interested in learning about international relations and aspects of project management. The position is available immediately for a period of five (5) months.
The position is full time (08:45 – 16:00 daily Monday to Friday) and entails assisting the Directorate responsible for the priority areas of Academic, Science & Technology Cooperation (ASTC) and for Tourism and Cultural Exchange (TCE). The Selected candidate will assist the Directorate with the implementation of their projects, primarily the Nelson Mandela Internship Programme (NMIP), doing research work, making logistical and administrative arrangements, as well as liaising with IORA Member States and Dialogue Partners.
It's essential that applicants to this position have strong communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details. Interested candidates require fluent written and oral English and French with strong computer literacy and cross-cultural communication skills.
Interested applicants should have an existing residence permit for Mauritius.
A post graduate qualification or previous relevant experience dealing with the above-mentioned priority areas is not a requirement but will be an advantage.
The position will receive an all-inclusive monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 and a travel allowance of Rs 5,150.
