The First Workshop on the Development of the IORA Guideline to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate IUU Fishing was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 13 to 14, 2023. 

This workshop was part of a series of workshops organized in collaboration between Indonesia and France to develop the IORA Guideline. The workshop aimed to contribute to the sustainable management of marine fisheries resources in the Indian Ocean Region. Participants from 15 IORA Member States provided their input on the zero draft of the guideline drafted by Indonesia.
