The IORA-Nelson Mandela “Be the Legacy” Internship Programme was launched during the 18th Council of Ministers’ (COM) in 2018 to mark his birth centenary. The NMIP provides an opportunity to solidify the historical link to further his Vision for regional development by creating a strong and growing base of young people to safeguard, secure and develop the Indian Ocean Region sustainably.
