How can the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) empower women and strengthen companies in conflict-affected environments in the Indian Ocean region?



  • UN Women moderated the webinar and guest speakers included:

    • Alice Laugher, CEO of Committed to Good, a company that provides staff, systems and in-country management, enabling rehabilitation, reconstruction and redevelopment in conflict-affected areas.
    • Sadiyo Said, Founder and Chancellor of Hano Academy in Mogadishu, Somalia and Chair of the Managing Committee of Somali STEM Society.

     

    The speakers shared their experiences on promoting the WEPs and women’s economic empowerment in situations affected by conflict, and the principles and tools they have used to overcome the additional challenges posed by working in high-risk areas.

    This webinar is part of a series on the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) organized by the UN Women project "Promoting Women's Economic Empowerment in the Indian Ocean Rim".
