IORA Specialised Agencies
The IORA Specialised Agencies, established by the Council of Ministers are responsible for enhancing capacity-building and knowledge sharing in specific areas. There are two IORA Specialized Agencies, viz the Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (RCSTT) in Iran, and the Fisheries Support Unit (FSU) in Oman.

Fisheries Support Unit (FSU)
The main objective of the Fisheries Support Unit is to establish effective networking and coordination among Member States for the purpose of developing mutual cooperation on the fisheries related activities. The Fisheries Support Unit is responsible for:

Facilitate bilateral and multilateral activities in fisheries research and resource management among through the development of suitable projects including finding arrangements for the projects.

Enhance interaction by exchange of information in fisheries between Members using electronic information, including the existing linkages with regional fisheries management organisations and/or through the establishment of a database.

Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (RCSTT)
RCSTT focuses on facilitating the transfer of sustainable and appropriate technologies between and within IORA Member States, contributing to regional development and innovation.
The RCSTT aims to support the development and transfer of applied research, knowledge, and technology among IORA Member States and other countries.
It focuses on fostering policy development, human resource capacity building, and the creation of new technologies to address regional needs.
